ICMP/CIEM is the international
umbrella trade association representing the interests of the music publishing
community globally. |
ICMP/CIEM’s mission is to: 1- increase
the level of copyright protection internationally, 2- strengthen the position of the creative community, 3- facilitate the negotiation of licensing terms for musical works, 4- improve efficiency in works management, 5- create an industry forum for discussion and consolidation of global positions, and 6- represent
industry positions at international, regional and local levels. As
part of its mission, ICMP/CIEM also speaks for the international
community of composers and songwriters which music publishers represent. |
ICMP/CIEM’s constituent members
are national, regional and international music publishers’ associations in
the world. Through these associations, ICMP/CIEM represents independent
national music publishers, local music publishers from within international
groups, and international independent and major publishers, publishing all
genres of music, serious and popular.
ICMP/CIEM’s Board
is elected by the active member associations and appoints internal
and external committees to carry out international and regional actions to
support copyright and to address industry issues. |
Because of the
way the committees are structured, ICMP/CIEM maintains direct
relations with companies which are the most representative in each music
publishing sector. By way of these working committees, involving a
diversified and global representation, ICMP/CIEM consolidates the
views of the publishing community globally. |
